A Little About Me
I'm Dr. Morgan Nolte, founder of Reshape Physical Therapy and Wellness, LLC (but just call me Morgan). I graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy then went on to complete a residency program to become a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Geriatric Physical Therapy (that is a mouthful!).
I grew up in Western Nebraska. I met my awesome farmer husband at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, and we have a super cute son together who is the joy of our lives.
I used to teach Jazzercise and still love going to class. I like to do anything outside in nice weather and am very fond of Husker Football.
Reason #1: No One Is Serving The 'Somewhat Healthy' Adults
There is a HUGE underserved population right now. Adults who are living but not thriving. They are slowing down and they don’t know what to do about it. They have tried physical therapy, chiropractic, medications, surgery, everything, and they still feel like they aren’t where they want or need to be to keep doing the things they love to do.
They’ve had to slow down at work and home. They feel young at heart, but their bodies are telling them otherwise. They want to get better but feel like they have tried everything and are losing hope.
I am here for those people. I am here to help them take back control of their health so that in 15, 20, or 30 years from now they are still living an active, independent, fulfilling life.
Reason #2: You Can't Out-Exercise A Bad Diet
I know I’m a physical therapist and should be all about the exercise but the truth is that food comes first and NO ONE is talking about it.
You can exercise all you want but without proper nutrition it’s like having the labor to build a house but no materials. I would go into homes of people who have pain and all these other conditions and see what they were eating, and know that a few simple changes they would feel lightyears better. Or I would be in homes with all of this low-fat diet food and hear stories about how they have tried to lose weight every different way but it either didn’t work or the weight didn’t stay off and I would think…with a few simple changes you could stop eating this cardboard and start see lasting results.
Excess weight is a risk factor for about every disease out there. We HAVE to do more to address it.
Reason #3: Insurance Doesn't Pay For You To Get Healthy
I knew that if I truly wanted to make a greater impact on people’s health, I had to get out of insurance-based physical therapy. Insurance companies care about money. I care about people, relationships, and results. Insurance reimbursement greatly influenced how much therapy I could provide my clients.
When you are working on eating and exercise habits, things take time. Weight loss doesn’t happen immediately and habits don’t change in 30 days. This type of lifestyle change takes many months. It takes regular coaching, touch points, accountability, relationship building…the things that are so critical to good outcomes are also the things not covered by insurance.
