"After menopause it seemed like the weight was coming on so fast. I realized after several unproductive visits with my primary care doctor about my weight gain, that he was just not equipped to help me, and unfortunately, he wasn't telling me that he wasn't equipped to help me. 

I was so frustrated. I found it disheartening that my doctor was unable to help me, and kept giving me advice that just wasn’t helpful. Our culture expects us to accept weight gain as we grow older, but I don’t accept that! My faith teaches me that I am only to accept the things of God - I don’t see any weight gain in the Bible.

I grew up relatively poor and learned to eat whatever was available, and I ate because I was hungry. As I became an adult, I would grab whatever was available when I was hungry, which worked when I had a young metabolism and didn't have to worry about menopause.

I’m so thankful that God led me to Dr. Morgan! Through the Zivli course, I've actually learned how to eat for my aging body. It has also shifted my mindset from grabbing anything just because I’m hungry - like having a cookie while I’m cooking dinner - to eating more protein. I’ve learned a lot of different protein foods that I can have on hand and grab quickly instead of a cookie. 

I used to have a super, super sweet tooth and I loved my sweets. And now with just replacing it with protein and going through everything the program teaches, I honestly do not have a sweet tooth anymore - and I’m pretty shocked by that!

When I would try, I honestly could not lose one pound on my own…not one pound. So far, I've lost 21 pounds, super excited! "Weight loss has been a challenge for me my whole life. There is so much unhelpful messaging out there like I wasn’t trying hard enough, or something was wrong with me, or that this was my fault. I was really hard on myself and would feel guilty for having the smallest bite. It was really depressing. I would blame myself and people would just think I ate too much, even though I know I didn’t! 

After I had my child, I tried everything that I thought was out there, but I was so frustrated because I had the mindset. I had the will. I had the desire. I had the commitment. I was doing what I felt like were the right things and it wasn't getting me anywhere. In fact, I steadily gained weight. After doing tests at my doctor’s office, I found out I was pre-diabtic.

I tried Noom and had success with that initially. I’d pretty much lost all hope and had decided Zivli was my last chance.

Through Zivli I learned that psychology is not the beginning and the end of weight loss. There are other complex biological things that are happening. It's not just about your willpower to lose weight because I have that!

The program helped me identify the need to increase protein and healthy fats in my diet, and the role they play in weight loss. I also learned how to use the Carb Manager App, and find out specific foods that help me increase my protein and fat. The recipes and food suggestions are great!

I learned about intermittent fasting, which opened up a whole new path for me to try. Once I had the right plan combined with my will to succeed, I finally started to see weight loss for the first time in 2 years! I lost 8 pounds in my first 8 weeks. "I began the Zivli program in August of 2020. It was important to me to find a weight loss program designed around eating my own foods rather than prepackaged meals.

The program saved me since I found that my blood glucose was moving toward the diabetic range days after starting the program. Had I not started this program I would have been panicking to figure out how to improve this situation.

"2018 was a horrible, frustrating year for me with 2 failed hand ligament surgeries and a foot stress fracture that would not heal.
